MAYFIELD EAST, FRACTURED COTTAGE
Residential, House Alterations and Additions
2017 –

The alterations and additions to this original war time cottage are designed to change it from small internally focused house that was disconnected from a long yard at the rear into a home that opens and engages with the outdoors along it’s entire northern flank. The design allows for a growing family to continue to reside onsite throughout the building process by inhabiting the original cottage whilst the addition is built then moving to the new build section whilst the original cottage is reworked. The central kitchen and living areas utilised the level change between old and new to create height, light and generosity in the heart of the home.
